Dundalk under 15's travelled to Longford on Saturday.
Dundalk kicked off the first half, Longford caught the ball, Dundalk still not awake from the long bus journey missed a few tackles and Longford scored a try.
From the restart Dundalk defended hard and from this pressure Longford knocked on. From the following scrum Stephen McGivern picked and went to score under the posts.
Dundalk attacked again with some good decoy runs off out half Aaron Quinn allowed Stephen McGivern to score his second of the day. This left the score 12-7.
Longford never gave up but dundalks defence kept them at bay. As tiredness crept in Longford managed to score anothe try which left the scores 14-12 Longford.
In the last few mins of the first half Dundalk had Longford pinned on their try line and with a Paul o'connell like pick and go Evan quigley at full reach placed the ball down for a try.

Longford made the better start at half time and scored another try.
Dundalk not willing to give up had Longford camped in their own half, with a training ground move off a line out Stephen McGivern received a pass from Aaron Quinn and after beating four defenders scored in the corner for his hat trick for the day. Stephen Arrowsmith converted leaving the scores 24-21 Dundalk.
Longford kicked off and as Dundalk attacked the ball was spilled on Longford counter attacked, as Hugh tiernan went to tackle the winger he was held back allowing Longford to score, the try was allowed.
The score was now 26-24 to Longford.
Dundalk with 10 mins to go put Longford under pressure but were unable to convert any chances they had.
Dundalk lost but were happy with the way the played and are already looking forward to build on the way they played into next weeks game.
