DRFC SHARKS, BOYS U7 – U12 & GIRLS TAG RUGBY, 2011 – 2012 SEASON

On behalf of Dundalk Rugby Club, we would like to welcome back all returning Sharks players, both Boys and Girls, and would like to extend an especially warm welcome to any new players who are joining the Club this year and playing rugby for the first time. We hope you enjoy your time at the Club and make many new friends.

At the end of last season, there was approaching 200 Boys and Girls playing with the Club, in addition to over 25 dedicated coaches and many parents who also lent a hand. We hope to build on the achievements of last season and increase our numbers for the current season. The Club also hopes to increase the level of communication between the Club and players & parents, with a new website nearing completion over the coming weeks. The Club also hosts Halloween and Christmas parties  for the kids, and at least one weekend tour away to another Club in Ireland for the older kids & parents. All coaches are fully vetted through IRFU procedures, and the Club also follows best practice in this regard with a dedicated Child Welfare Officer.

Club and coaches are always very appreciative of a helping hand from parents. There are lots of areas within the Club where assistance is required including coaching, match days and Minis functions and social events. The Club is trying to get a Parents committee off the ground for the 2011 / 2012 season. Could any interested volunteers please contact Mini Rugby Co-ordinator Donal Carroll (086 8133363) or Social Committee Co-ordinator Sabrina Maguire (086 8561633). We would love to hear from you.

The Club will be hosting a registration and family fun day on Saturday 17th September commencing after sharks training that morning. All sharks players must register with the Club on or before that date. New Club kit will be available for sale on that day. Players who have outgrown their jerseys can recycle them down to younger players on the day for a suggested trade price of €10 per Jersey. The Leinster Senior J1 League then kicks off at 1.30pm at the Club where Dundalk 2nd XV take on Enniscorthy, followed by the 1st XV also against Enniscorthy at 3.00pm.
