The Dundalk Magpies provide inclusive tag rugby opportunities for children aged 8 to 15 with additional needs and learning disabilities who may not have the opportunity to participate in mainstream rugby, but who want to be part of our club and proudly wear the black-and-white jersey.  In time, we hope to expand the age range.

Our aim is to create a welcoming and supportive environment where every child can enjoy rugby, make new friends, and develop their confidence.

This morning marked the first of four pilot sessions, and we were delighted to welcome 10 new players, along with five siblings and one parent onto the pitch. The enthusiasm and enjoyment on display made for a hugely positive start.
The coaching team is made up of both club coaches and youth players, reflecting the strong community spirit within the club. Training sessions will take place every Sunday from 10.00am to 11.00am on the Firsts Pitch. Going forward, we hope that the Dundalk Magpies season will run alongside the rugby season, beginning in September and continuing through to May.

The initiative has been made possible thanks to the support of the IRFU, who have supplied the tag rugby equipment, and Louth Sports Partnership, who have generously donated a wide range of additional coaching and training equipment.
We are excited about the future of the Dundalk Magpies and the opportunities they will provide for young people in our community.
